Every Wednesday I take a snapshot of what’s trending from one of the more popular websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google and use it as the basis for one of three literary devices: a poem, a short story, or a short article. Every topic has to be referenced at least once and it has to be 500 words or less.
Today’s Trend-esday Offering comes from Facebook:
(For the sake of brevity, I am only touching on six of the trending topics)
Today’s offering is a variation of the song “Hallelujah.”
I’ve heard there was a Secret store,
of lingerie, perfume, and more
that uses Taylor Swift to try and woo ya’.
They clad her in their finest styles,
and marched her down the runway aisle,
and all perverted minds cried, “Hallelujah!”
While waiting for the next big film,
with TV hosts defending them,
the geeks and nerds all practice saying, “Booyah!”
The Star Wars line is getting long,
and Schwarzenegger’s coming strong,
and everywhere you hear their “Hallelujah!”
With death and fire in the air,
the line’s been drawn, but do you care?
You never think to learn from others, do ya?
Well, keep your hate,
your garbled speech,
I’ll use my voice and hands to reach,
for ways to live a life of “Hallelujah!”
