Brief Reflections on Grief
Mourn, but don’t despair.
You’ve lost, but you’re not losing.
There is no lot which falls on you except by His own choosing.
Grieve, but not to death.
You’ve bled, but it’s not mortal.
And every wound your heart receives is for His grace a portal.
Weep, but not in vain.
You’ll sorrow, but survive it.
Your tears are water to your soul, to drown but then revive it.
Sigh, but don’t lose heart.
You’ll falter, but keep going.
And every stumbled step you take is where His grace is showing.
