Ames City, IA - A local man has been placed under church discipline after his pastor, twenty-seven year-old Chase Amos, saw a social media post on which the man toasted the Ted Cruz’s caucus victory with a can of light beer.
The man, fifty-four year-old Mike Pierce, says he understands that drinking light beer goes against the example his pastor sets but that he didn’t think it was that big a deal.
“It’s not like I had more than two,” he pled to the deacon body, according to their minutes. “And at least I didn’t vote for Trump! Or the woman.”
Pastor Amos took to Twitter, via @hipsterPastor_IA to defend his actions:
“We don’t water down the gospel, our love, or our beer. This isn’t your daddy’s Baptist church.”
To which Mr. Pierce, @howdoesthisworklol, replied, “My dad was a deacon here before you were born.”
