Millennial Pastor Schedules Third Viewing of Captain America: Civil War for “Cultural Engagement”

Oklahoma City, OK - Tim Yandell, pastor of Assemblers, Assemble! Church in Oklahoma City (formerly Third Ave. Assembly of God) was seen outside his local cinema Sunday afternoon ready to catch his third viewing of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR.

“Well, it’s a pretty significant piece of culture,” he said when asked about his reasoning for multiple viewings. “I don’t feel like I’d be doing my congregation justice if I didn’t keep up with what was going on in the culture around them.”

As he paid for his popcorn and drink he added, “There are very real and important theological implications at play when a member declares himself or herself as #TeamCap or #TeamIronMan. It’s my duty as their pastor to be able to speak intelligently into their lives to avoid chaos and keep the Avenge-, um…Assemblers from splitting apart.”

When asked, Pastor Yandall declined to choose a team.
