Part VII - The Kingdom
We are persuaded that there exists a Kingdom.
A kingdom, not of man,
nor man’s devices.
Not of flesh,
nor fleshly license.
Not of Earth,
nor earthly vices.
But of God.
In which God realizes
His perfect will,
His perfect presence,
His perfect favor,
in which His essence
is perfectly shown in every inch of its creation.
And in this Kingdom,
there is welcomed,
every tongue and tribe and nation.
Perfect rest will there be found
by all who hearken to the sound,
of the voice of God made man,
“Repent! My Kingdom is at hand!”
Oh to see this Kingdom coming,
Hear its song, that distant of humming,
of voices lifted up in praise,
in that land of endless days.
Oh to know that Kingdom fully,
where sin no more can stain and sully
but where perfect love has risen high
and cast out every fear that tried
to overturn our sure persuasion,
of the Kingdom’s claim ‘ore all creation.
We are persuaded that there exists
A Kingdom now, but still not yet.
A Kingdom sure to soon descend,
and in that moment put an end
to all that grieves us.
Every sin and every evil,
every demon ever devil.
Every scourge and plague and blight
burnt away before the light,
the perfect light of Kingdom glory,
finally come to end the story
of sin and sorrow, death and dying,
of pain and struggle, tears and crying.
We are persuaded, so let us live
as those who have this gift to give.
The Kingdom in our hearts abiding,
a King who with us now is siding
A faith to bear us through each day
a hope that will not fade away.
Let us proclaim to every man,
the Kingdom is still yet at hand.
